2 -Time Super Bowl Champion Preston Pearson Speaks With Joe Lisi About His 14 Year Career In The NFL

Preston Pearson was a standout running back in the NFL from 1967-1980. He was a 12th round draft pick in the 1967 NFL draft by the Baltimore Colts without ever playing a down of college football. Pearson went on to make the Colts roster under Hall of Fame coach Don Shula. After his days in Baltimore, Pearson took his talents to the Pittsburgh Steelers where he went on to become a Super Bowl Champion under Hall of Fame head coach Chuck Noll. In 1975, Pearson arrived in Dallas, where he played from 1975-1980 and won his second Super Bowl under Hall of Fame coach Tom Landry. Pearson played with three head coaches (Shula, Noll, and Landry) and three Hall of Fame quarterbacks (Unitas, Bradshaw and Staubach).

Pearson played in an unbelievable 5 Super Bowls (3,9,10,12 and 13) with the Colts, Steelers and Cowboys.

Pearson was an explosive back who had excellent vision and speed. He was a threat to go the distance every time he touched the football. He was an exceptional pass catcher and Dallas head coach Tom Landry utilized him as a third down back, making Pearson one of the first situational backs in the NFL. Pearson rushed for 3,609 rushing yards averaging 3.8 yards per carry with 13 touchdowns. Pearson had fantastic hands and was great catching the ball out of the backfield. He has 254 career receptions for 3,095 receiving yards averaging 12.2 yards per catch and 17 touchdowns. Pearson was also a punt and kickoff returner early in his career and had 2 kickoff returns for touchdowns. He scored another touchdown by fumble recovery and recorded a total of 33 career touchdowns in his 14 amazing year career

Although Pearson played for the Colts, Steelers and Cowboys, his main love will always be with America's Team.

Pearson is very active in the Dallas area and is a positive role-model for athletes of all ages. He has a passion for the game of football and started a business in 1981 called:
