Former Iowa RB Albert Young Joins Joe Lisi Talking About His Career In Iowa City
Albert Young was a standout running back for the Iowa Hawkeyes from 2004-2007. In his outstanding career in Iowa City, recording 3,173 rushing yards averaging 4.8 yards per carry with 23 touchdowns. Young had great hands with 79 receptions with 703 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. He had great feet and hit the hole with explosive power. Young was a tough inside runner and was not afraid of running between the tackles. He was excellent at finding running run when there was not a lane and was a very underrated back in the Big 10.
He played from 2008-2010 for the Minnesota Vikings and was part of a fantastic backfield that included Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor.
Young moved on to become an assistant coach for the Colorado Buffaloes under head coach Jon Embree in the 2012 college football season.
Currently, Young helps teach and mentor young athletes in the New Jersey area.
