Gerald Riggs Jr. Speaks With Joe Lisi About His Career In Knoxville
Gerald Riggs Jr. was a standout running back for the Volunteers from 2002-2005. He rushed for 1,893 yards averaging 4.9 yards per carry with 10 touchdowns. He had outstanding vision and strength in his ability to run between the tackles. He was able to get yards after contact and would not be taken down by one tackler.
Riggs Jr. is the son of former Atlanta Falcons and Washington Redskins running back Gerald Riggs (3x Pro-Bowl, 2x All-Pro selection).
Riggs Jr. went on to play in the NFL for the Miami Dolphins (2006) and Chicago Bears (2007). He also played for the Rhein Fire in NFL Europe and played from 2011-2013 in the CFL (Toronto Argonauts).
