Interview with former Georgia Bulldog standout running back Robert Edwards

Robert Edwards played for the University of Georgia from 1994-1997. He started his career as a cornerback and was moved in the spring of 1995 to the running back position by the coaching staff (Ray Goff head coach). During the next three seasons, Edwards ran for 2,033 rushing yards for 5.2 yards per carry and 27 rushing touchdowns. He was a great receiver out of the backfield with 48 total receptions for 455 yards and three touchdowns. In 1997, Edwards scored four touchdowns in the Bulldogs victory over top-tanked Florida. He ended his career at Georgia rushing for three touchdowns in the 1998 Outback Bowl victory over Wisconsin. He was drafted as a #1 pick in the 1998 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots .He was a 1,000 yards rusher for the Patriots in 1998 and was named 2002 NFL Halas Award Winner in the NFL as a member of the Miami Dolphins. He finished his professional career in the CFL. He was a 1, 000 yard rusher for two seasons with the Montreal Alouettes.
