Interview With Former Va. Tech RB Mike Imoh
Mike Imoh was a standout running back for the Hokies from 2003-2005. In his four year career in Blacksburg, Imoh rushed for 1,263 yards averaging 4.3 yards per carry with 10 touchdowns. Imoh could also catch the ball out of the backfield recording 28 receptions for 185 yards and 4 touchdowns. Imoh had great vision and was a very physical inside rusher between the tackles. Imoh had break away speed and could change direction on a dime and was a threat to take it to the house every time he touched the ball.
In his freshman season, Imoh was the first Hokies player to return a kickoff for a touchdown since 1992. In 2004, Imoh set the single game rushing record vs. North Carolina. The record was set by former Hokies running back Kevin Jones. Imoh ripped the Tar Heels defense for 243 yards on 32 carries en route to the Hokies 27-24 victory in Chapel Hill. Imoh was durable and could carry the rock over 25 times per game.
Imoh displayed great speed and strength in his Hokies career and followed in the long list of great Virginia Tech running backs.
Currently, Imoh is a financial advisor at Edward Jones in the Washington,DC area.
