Akron has faced Penn State three times since 2006 and is 0-3 in those games losing by a total score of 86-26 or 20.0 points per game. The last meeting was in 2014 in Happy Valley with Penn State winning 21-3.
Akron lost 7 games in 2016 to opponents (Wisconsin, Appalachian State, Western Michigan, Buffalo, Toledo, Bowling Green and Ohio) with a combined overall record of 57-35 or .619%. In those games, the Zips were outscored by a total margin of 276-116 or 22.8 points per game.
Since 2006, Akron is 1-8 on week one of the season against Power 5 teams losing those games by a total score of 309-67 or 30.2 points jumpers for sale per game. (Penn State (twice), UCF (twice), Wisconsin, Syracuse, Ohio State and Oklahoma). The lone win came in 2007 against Army 22-14.
